PARTNER
JAMES A. BOWLES practices labor relations and employment law representing management. Mr. Bowles specializes in the litigation and trial of employment cases, including wrongful discharge and employment discrimination claims, labor arbitrations, and employee benefit litigation under ERISA. Mr. Bowles also counsels management clients on labor and employment matters.
Mr. Bowles graduated summa cum laude from Indiana University in 1976. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He received his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Georgetown University in 1979. Mr. Bowles is the author of 'Defining the Scope of Bargaining for Teacher Negotiations: A Study of Judicial Approaches,' The Labor Law Journal, October 1978. He was admitted to the California bar in 1979, and the Wisconsin bar in 1988, and has been admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the Central, Eastern, Southern and Northern Districts of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, District of Columbia Circuit, and the Seventh Circuit.
