ARTHUR B. COOK has a broadly based real property practice embracing transactions and consulting, litigation and environmental law. In the environmental arena Mr. Cook has deep experience and expertise in matters involving contaminated soils and groundwater, hazardous waste including Federal Superfund litigation, and the defense of toxic torts. In addition to counseling clients in private transactions, Mr. Cook is experienced in proceedings in state and federal courts, including numerous jury trials.
In 1971, Mr. Cook graduated from Stanford University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. He received both a Master's degree in Business Administration and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Southern California in 1975. He was admitted to the California bar in 1975.
Mr. Cook is a member of the Executive Committee of Attorney-Client Mediation and Arbitration Services, Los Angeles County Bar Association; the Litigation and Natural Resources and Energy and Environmental Law Sections of the American Bar Association; the Defense Research Institute; the Association of Business Trial Lawyers; California Plant Health Association; and Pest Control Operators of California. Mr. Cook formerly served as a member of the Judiciary Committee of the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
Mr. Cook serverd as Managing Partner from 1996-1997 and 2003-2007.
